The lucky winners were Bill Holland, Anna Kuperberg, Patrick Mcnamara, Terry Michael, Claire Morgan and Sergio who each won in "Best of Category," and will receive a Nikon Digital SLR Camera, along with a Bogen Prize Pack which features both a tripod and a gear bag.
Weddings are one of the most beautiful events to photograph since they incorporate so many eye-pleasing aesthetic elements such as elaborate floral arrangements, elegant attire, and mouth-watering (not to mention eye appealing) cuisine. The photographs featured in this year's Top Knots contest were unique in that they did not only manage to capture the elegance of the wedding occasion itself, but also the wide range of emotions experienced by everyone involved. Whether it was a candid shot of the newlyweds sneaking a private kiss amongst the revelry, or the bride enjoying some private joke during that traditional father/daughter wedding dance, this year's entries managed to capture the essence of what a wedding is truly about.
Wedding photographers are a unique breed in that they must get the shot right the first time, EVERY time. There's no "do over's" in weddings. The day only comes once. So the photographer has to get the shot right every time because his work will be the source of everlasting memories for years to come.
Top Knots will hold this event again next year, so get busy framing those great shots. Maybe you will be one of the lucky winners next year.
