Entering photo competitions is a great way to get one's work noticed by both peers and potential customers alike. That is why amateur photographers, in particular, are encouraged to submit pieces of their best work to as many competitions as possible, especially those sponsored by renowned photography-related websites and organizations.
The National Photo Awards is one such competition that should be considered. It offers an ongoing monthly photo contest that has a $500 cash prize going to the overall winner each month. A new contest starts each month.
There are several categories of winners and the popularity of its website means that winners whose work are displayed on the site enjoy instant exposure for their photographic efforts, especially since the site has had over 2,500,000 hits thus far, meaning that obviously a great deal of people are viewing the work featured there.
The National Photo Awards is both a national and international photo contest and entries are due on the 20th of each month for the monthly photo contest categories and it should be noted that the individual photographers retain the copyright on all photographs they enter in the various these contests.
The contests enjoy a star-studded list of banner sponsors, including such industry giants as Extensis Software, Red River Inkjet Papers, Auto FX Software and PictoColor Corporation, among others.
