The days of old photo frames are now finally over. With Sony's new S-Frame brand of digital photo frames, with their vibrant LCD screens and stylish designs suitable for display in any room of the most elegant home, there is really no reason to ever go back to the old-style photo frames again.
With three new models, the DPF-V900, DPF-V700 and DPF-D70 digital photo frames all have WVGA resolution (800 x 480 pixels) along with 15:9 aspect-ratio screens that allow you to showcase your digital pictures with both detail and clarity. Inside the black bezels of these thin frames is an advanced image processing system that scales and displays images of up to 48 megapixels. What that means is that these state-of-the-art frames are capable of displaying photographs taken with the most advanced digital cameras on the market today.
Other convenient features of these frames include ten slide show settings, both clock and calendar views and two separate index modes that allow you to preview several photos at once. You can also set the auto power on / off feature for the time when you want the frame to turn on and off each day.
The 7-inch DPF-V700 and the 9-inch DPF-V900 frames have 512 MB of internal storage, while the 7-inch DPF-D70 model has 256 MB worth of internal flash memory. This means that lots of photos can be stored right within the frames, leaving your memory stick free for use in your camera.
Photos can be loaded into the internal memory of these frames utilizing several types of flash memory cards, including Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, SD Memory Card, MMC, Compact Flash, Microdrive and xD-Picture Card. The V900 and V700 models are also Bluetooth-enabled, meaning that you can import images wirelessly from another Bluetooth-enabled device, such as your mobile phone.
The DPF-V900, DPF-V700 and DPF-D70 digital photo frames will be available at most retail outlets for $250, $190 and $140 respectively. For the best prices, check
