Shutterbug Photo Contests Generate Great Buzz among Amateur Photography Community

Shutterbug Magazine is a publication that has been enjoyed for years by amateur photographers of all ages, and even some professionals. In addition to the wide variety of editorial content included in the magazine and on their website, they also maintain a comprehensive listing of photographic contests that will be of interest to their widespread reader community.
A quick glance of their website, under the photo contests tab, shows a neat and concise listing of all contests running in each individual month. So, a reader could simply scroll down month by month and see what is open that he might be interested in entering. For example, under April we see that the 2008 National Photo Awards monthly photo contest is running. A bit of information about the contest is given, such as the prize amount, and then contact information is provided if the reader would like to get more information.
This service provided by
Shutterbug is invaluable to amateur photographers who may wish to get their name out there in the marketplace by winning a few important contests. As we all know, it is very, very difficult to separate oneself from the pack, but entering (and hopefully winning) a few high profile contests is one of the few, and most cost-effective, ways to accomplish this. The exposure gained by winning, or even placing in some of these contests, can often lead to real photography jobs, which as we know, lead to more and more jobs.
