If you're looking for a book packed full of lots of glitzy illustrations and computer generated diagrams in multiple colors, then you don't want to spend your money on this tome, because you won't find them. However, if you're looking for a no-nonsense, comprehensive guide to Photoshop 7, then you might want to give this book a look.
The book looks like a typical computer-style manual and it is seriously heavy, making it difficult to hold. You definitely want to sit this one on a table, since it is over 730 pages long and very comprehensive.
Information is broken down in a logical manner and there is a very detailed table of contents, where all functions are broken down and the reader is directed to the appropriate page. This book will tell you everything you need to know in order to use Photoshop 7 effectively. Published by McGraw-Hill, the well-known educational book publisher and written by Laurie Ann Ulrich, you'll find information on just about every facet of PhotoShop 7 in here. From introductory information, such as an overview of the software and what it does, to how to actually edit and work with images, doing such things as adjusting colors and resizing and cropping images. It is unlikely that anyone wouldn't get a lot out of this book if they were serious about learning how to use their digital editing software more effectively.
A comprehensive book like this one doesn't come cheap, so it would be best to check on Amazon.com to get the best price.
