Review of "40 Digital Photography Techniques for Beginners"

Author John Kim provides an overview guide designed mainly for the new digital photographer who just acquired their first digital camera. The book is intentionally kept very basic so as not to confuse the readers with a lot of unfamiliar technical terms and concepts. It would seem that this book works best as a companion to the basic manual that comes packed in with the camera.
This book does, however, goes one step further than the simple manual in that it will provide the new photographer with a great deal of information and tips to get you taking incredible photos almost from day one.
Not only is the book packed with information that explains in more depth those items only glossed over by your camera manual, but it is also laid out in a very easy to read way, with each point or idea clearly separated from another and plenty of stunning photographic examples of the concepts described by the author.
Someone totally new to photography will find this book to be a great value, but someone who is very familiar with film photography and only making the move to digital will probably find this book to rudimentary since almost all of the concepts covered will be familiar to them. However, even the experienced photographer will have to admit that the images in and of themselves almost makes this book worth its purchase price.
If you are new to the world of photography, go to Amazon.com and get this book. If you are an experienced photographer just getting into the digital world, see if you can borrow a copy from a friend as the photographs are excellent.
