Adobe Systems, Inc. announced earlier this month the release of their new Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0 beta version. This beta version will offer a public glimpse of the new features and improved functionality that will be delivered with the next release of the updated software.
Lightroom is the essential toolbox of the professional photographer and the new version will be the first to offer dual monitor support, as well as support for 64-bit operating systems, such as Windows Vista.

The 2.0 beta version of Photoshop Lightroom will provide early access to some of the most requested improvements over the earlier version, and it demonstrates Adobe's willingness to continue an ongoing dialogue with the photography community.

The beta download is available as a 30-day free trial in both Macintosh and Windows platforms, and it can be accessed here. Only existing Lightroom 1.0 customers will be able to test the beta version for an extended period up until August 31, when they can then invite friends to take part in this trial period.

Adobe recommends system configurations as Macintosh OSX 10.4, 10.5 1 GHz PowerPC G4 or G5, or an Intel-based processor. They also recommend Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or Enterprise, Intel Pentium 4 processor, 1 GBRAM and a 1024×768 resolution screen.

"Adobe Systems has long been a leading in photography-related software, and some of their packages have revolutionized the field and how the world engages with new ideas and information. The organization prides itself on helping the world communicate, anytime, anywhere, and through any medium."

Visit their website at Adobe.com for more information about this as well as their many other photography-related software packages.
