National Geographic Publications Hosts a Variety of Photography Workshops

The National Geographic Publications name has long been synonymous with outstanding photography and stunning photos. Many world-famous photographers got their start by viewing these photos and dreaming about one day being able to capture such riveting photos as the ones displayed in the pages of the National Geographic Traveler, and other publications by the organization.
While National Geographic can't make an accomplished photographer out of everyone, they can offer to share some of their tips and tricks with budding photographers from all over the world. This is why they have embarked on a very ambitious schedule of classes, hosted by world-renowned photographers, whose work routinely appears in the pages of their publications. These photographic sojourns take place throughout the world, in such exotic destinations as India, the Sea of Cortes in Mexico, Tuscany, and Barcelona, Spain.

Each photography workshop is hosted by one of the organization's accomplished photographers, such as David Edwards, Chris Rainier and Kris LeBoutillier. The trips, most of which span seven days, offer a combination of informal talks discussing techniques and other aspects of primarily digital photography, as well as daily escorted photo shoots and accompanying critique sessions. Assignments are also provided and location shoots set up that are designed to help participants learn to create great photographs using the techniques the expert workshop leaders have been employing for years.

Additional instruction is provided on downloading, saving, organizing and archiving images, as well as photo enhancement techniques such as cropping, sizing and manipulating the images with computer graphics software.
