Point and shoot cameras do have their fan base because they offer many advantages, not the least of which is their size. The Kodak Easyshare Z8612 gives the user the best of both worlds. It's a small camera that is amazingly easy to use; just point and shoot. It also offers a manual mode that let's the photographer control such things as shutter speed and aperture. The camera has a 12X zoom with optical image stabilization, and the all glass Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom lens at 36-432 mm) is fast so that you can get sharp, steady shots even when shooting at long ranges.
You get amazingly clear prints up to 30 x 40 inches with this camera's generous 8.1 MP. You can also capture beautiful HD pictures in 16:9 format that can be viewed on your HDTV or other HD-compatible devices.
The camera also has onboard software that lets you do such things as cropping and special effects, without the necessity of buying a separate graphics program for your computer. The generous 2.5" LCD screen let's you view your photos clearly right from the camera. Since the Z8612 IS is part of the Kodak Easyshare system, all you have to do is press "Share" for easy sharing of your photos.
The camera is amazingly easy to use. It will set all the variables like shutter speed and aperture, or you can choose to set them yourself. In auto mode, the camera's exclusive Color Science Imagine Processing Chip can make the split second decisions necessary to deliver rich, vibrant and true-to-life colors in just about any lighting situation you can imagine.
