Have you ever wished you had an easy-to-carry portable photo printer so that you could create prints on the go? How handy something like this would be while on vacation with family. You take that great photograph and everyone who wants a copy has to wait until you can get home to print them, or has to pay top dollar to have them printed in a resort photo outlet.
Well, this problem will plague your life no more. Canon has just introduced their new Portable Pixma iP100 compact inkjet photo printer. This unit is capable of attaining 9600 x 2400 dpi print resolution and it was specifically designed for frequent travelers looking for a light-weight, but stylish printer that they could bring along with them. The unit features a minimum droplet size of one picoliter, auto image fix technology and a 14 ppm spring speed when printing in color.
The unit will handle a maximum photo size of 8 x 10 prints and will connect to your computer via a USB 2.0 port. It will retail for about $249, which makes it perfect for people who need a second photo printer that they can easily pack up and bring along on their travels.
The Pixma iP100 mobile printer will deliver high-quality text and graphics and can be used not just for printing photos, but also for printing that last minute revision of a business presentation. It will print superb borderless color photographs from almost anywhere and will also come with a host of optional features that will make it easier to conduct business far from the office, even from the beach, if necessary.
The unit is not only light-weight but also of a small size, making it easy to fit on a tightly-cramped hotel room desk, or on the small surface of a bureau top in a tiny shipboard stateroom.
The unit also features Canon's Auto Image Fix technology, which, when attached to a laptop can automatically analyze and categorize the scenes in photographs to optimize the print output for each one (i.e., portrait, scenery, snapshot, etc.)
The unit should be available for sale at about mid-year, and will be available from most Canon-authorized retail outlets, including those online; it is set to retail for about $250.
